Artist's conk (Ganoderma applanatum) can be found growing on the trunks of decayed living or dead hardwoods. Like other medicinal mushrooms, they are available year-round yet their peak season is autumn. This mushroom offers a canvas-like appearance that has been used for art, hence its common name!
