Apple Acres Farm
Fresh, Local, Seasonal Products
Our products are made from scratch right in our farm kitchen (or in our sugar shack) under cottage food regulations. Our focus on small batches using in-season produce is by design to ensure fresh, nutritious, and delicious farm products!

In keeping with our sustainability and local food roots, our offerings are seasonally available directly from the farm from June through October. We strongly believe in supporting local businesses, especially small-scale farmers and producers. Supporting local farmers supports local economies! We therefore primarily offer local sales and encourage folks to seek out producers in their own area. This is especially important for products like honey that provide the greatest health benefits when when sourced locally thanks to the pollen contained in raw, unfiltered honey. We do ship herbal tinctures.

Interested in picking up some of our products from the farm? We no longer set up a farm stand, but visitors are welcome to stop by Fridays from 3-6 pm. If you'd like an order to be ready for you, please contact us in advance!

Heather’s happy hens have the run of the farm. They spend their days foraging on pasture, dust bathing, and coming and going from their beautiful coop as they please.
We feed our flock organic non-GMO feed to supplement their vitamins and minerals and ensure healthy egg laying. Thanks to their free-range diet they produce healthy and gorgeous deep orange-yolked eggs that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids!

As a small-scale producer, we operate under the state of Michigan's Cottage Food Law (PA 113 of 2010), which exempts our "cottage food" products from the licensing and inspection provisions of the Michigan Food Law. This allows our products to be made in a facility that is not inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture & Rural Development.
GETTING HERE
Looking to visit the farm? Although we are conveniently located about three miles from downtown Houghton and Michigan Tech, we are a bit tucked away, which we love! However, it can make it a little tricky for visitors and guests to find us.
Our farm and farm stay are located at the top of our long and scenic driveway (i.e., we are not visible from the road). To help visitors and guests find our driveway, we have added a beautiful wooden sign to our mailbox. Feel free to openly admire this locally made artwork... we are pretty smitten with it ourselves!
