Maple Syrup Making (early spring)
Learn the ins and outs of how maple syrup is made
- 20 US dollars$20
Description
Ever wondered how maple syrup is made or why it is so expensive? Come experience first-hand what it takes to turn ~40 gallons of maple sap into 1 gallon of delicious syrup. During this one hour experience you will get a chance to collect sap while snowshoeing/hiking in the woods, spend time in our sugar shack while we boil down sap, and learn how to use a hydrometer to measure density as well as the filtration steps required to safely bottle the finished syrup. This experience is offered seasonally when the sap is following, usually mid-March through mid-April. Bring your boots or snowshoes (if you have them) and get ready for a fun outdoor adventure in our picturesque woods. Please dress appropriately for this outdoor tour.
