Craving a little R&R and possibly some time hanging out with cute farm animals? Or simply looking for a comfortable and relaxing place to unwind after a busy day exploring the Keweenaw? We invite you to stay with us in our seasonal, off-grid studio loft or enjoy the peace of camping with our goats.
Our small-scale, family farm is nestled into the forest of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Despite being just minutes from downtown Houghton, the Michigan Tech Trails, and the Keweenaw Peninsula, guests will feel immersed in nature as soon as they turn onto our winding and scenic driveway... we do receive compliments about the beauty of our driveway! For those traveling through the UP, we are centrally located between the Porcupine Mountains and the Marquette area.
We welcome guests to enjoy what the farm has to offer - from taking a casual stroll to visit our barn and apiary - housing our Nigerian dwarf and Nubian goats plus our ducks, to feeding the chickens, or to simply enjoying some downtime on the deck overlooking the gardens. To help orient you and make you feel more at home, we offer guests a complimentary farm tour.
We are happy to accommodate your needs, whether that means having a low-key and beautiful place to stay for a couple of nights or learning more about the happenings of our off-grid, regenerative farm. STUDIO LOFT
The studio loft is simple yet modern. The 500 sq. ft. loft is located over our detached garage and offers a private entrance as well deck that looks out towards our gardens and solar panels! The open floor plan and farm-themed artwork (made by family and friends!) provide a cozy space for guests to relax and experience off-grid, farm living.
We welcome up to four guests to stay in the studio loft, which includes a queen bed and futon, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. We love to support other local businesses, so we are happy to provide our guests with locally roasted coffee from Catch & Release and goat milk soaps handcrafted by BigGoat Farms (a neighboring farm where our goat Jasper came from).
CAMPING WITH GOATS
Relax and unplug in this rustic camp site, immersed in nature and farm life (in the form of goats, ducks, and honey bees). This unique camping retreat is perfect for those seeking a peaceful space to unwind and star gaze.
The camp site is located in our fenced goat pen, next to our apiary and duck run. Amenities include a composting toilet, rain harvested water for hand and dish washing, covered picnic table, and solo stove with a bundle of firewood.
We love hosting folks on the farm! Lucky for us, our guests are amazing and enjoy experiencing our off-grid farm stay... including the chicken and goat greeting committees.
Some guests are simply looking to unplug from the daily grind and appreciate the peaceful surroundings of the farm, while others appreciate having a cozy and conveniently located place to relax in between their action-filled adventures. GETTING HERE
Looking to visit the farm? Although we are conveniently located about three miles from downtown Houghton and the Michigan Tech campus, we are a bit tucked away. We love it, but it can make it a little tricky for visitors and guests to find us.
Our farm and farm stay are located at the top of our long and scenic driveway (i.e., we are not visible from the road). When navigating to the farm, look for our beautiful wooden Apple Acres Farm sign, located below our mailbox.
