Wild Mushroom Foraging
An introduction to foraging for wild edible and medicinal mushrooms
Description
Experience the thrill of wild mushroom foraging while hiking around our beautiful forest. As a certified Wild Mushroom Expert, Heather will take you on a foraging adventure to explore the fascinating world of edible and medicinal mushrooms. During this 1.5 hour tour, you will first learn basic mushroom identification in our outdoor classroom where you will have an opportunity to meet and pet our Nigerian dwarf goats. We will then set out to enjoy the beauty of our old-ish growth forest while gathering mushrooms for you to take home. Please note that hot and/or dry weather conditions can impact wild edible mushroom foraging. Bring appropriate footwear for walking in the woods over hilly terrain. A hat is also recommended as well as a mushroom identification book if you have one (optional). Please dress appropriate for this outdoor tour and bring water, if desired.
